Rapeseed meal export in September amounted to 21 thousand tons

Exports of rapeseed meal from Ukraine in September 2017 increased by 3 thousand tons in comparison with August and amounted to 21.3 thousand tons.

UkrAgroConsult informs that exports in September 2017 decreased by 2 thousand tons compared to September 2016.

Since the beginning of MY 2017/18 (July–September), 42.8 thousand tons of rapeseed meal were delivered to foreign markets, which is 20.8% less compared to the same period of MY 2016/17.

"As it was expected, active oilseeds export is characteristic for the current season (for the first three months, rapeseed was exported by 2.5 times more than last season), which affected processing and, accordingly, reduced the export potential of processed products, in particular, rapeseed meal," analysts noted.

At present, there is a decrease in the capacity of traditional sales markets, while the leaders among importers are European countries (87% of total exports) and Israel (9%).

Earlier it was reported that rapeseed reserves at enterprises that process and store oilseeds as of October 1, 2017 amounted to 480.97 thousand tons, which is 35% more compared to the same period last year (313.11 thousand tons).
