56 million tons of grain and leguminous crops harvested in Ukraine

As of November 14, 56.1 million tons of grain and leguminous crops are harvested in Ukraine.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reports that harvesting is carried out on the area of 13.5 million hectares (93% of the total area):

  • buckwheat — 195 thousand tons, with the yield of 1.09 t/ha (harvesting is completed on 99% of the area);
  • millet — 81 thousand tons, with the yield of 1.47 t/ha (harvesting is completed on 98% of the area);
  • corn — 17.8 million tons, with the yield of 5.15 t/ha (harvesting is completed on 77% of the area).

11.8 million tons of sunflower are harvested with the productivity of 2.01 t/ha. Soybean is harvested in the amount of 3.5 million tons with the productivity of 1.92 t/ha.

According to the report, 12.7 million tons of sugar beet are harvested on 89% of the area, the yield amounts to 45 t/ha.

Reference: production of grain and leguminous crops in 2017 should decrease to 62 million tons.
