Ukrzaliznytsya for 11M 2017 transported 34 million tons of grain cargo
In January-November 2017, Ukrzaliznytsya transported 33.6 million tons of grain cargo, which is 18.2% more compared to the same period last year.
According to Andrei Ryazantsev, director for economics and finance at Ukrzaliznytsia, the volumes of grain transportation grew at a faster rate than the car fleet of Ukrzaliznytsia could transport.
"In 2017, the fleet of grain hopper cars increased on average by 11.7% or 2 thousand cars. The average number of loaded per day wagons grew by 14.7%, which indicates an increase in the efficiency of using the car fleet. The facts prove that Ukrzaliznytsia has improved its services, and the accusations that sounded against the company are groundless," believes Andrei Ryazantsev.
Reference: over the past 2 years, the increase in grain transportation by rail amounted to more than 200%. Neither the state nor Ukrzaliznytsia were ready to such tendency.
