Ukraine since the beginning of 2017/18 MY exported 2.7 MT of wheat to Indonesia and the Philippines

Deliveries of Ukrainian wheat to the markets of Indonesia and the Philippines in the first half of 2017/18 MY amounted to 1.8 million tons and 0.87 million tons, respectively.

APK-Inform reports that export of Ukrainian grain to Indonesia exceeds the export value for the entire marketing year in the last few seasons. Supplies of wheat to the Philippines also reached a record level for the past 9 seasons. The previous maximum volume of Ukrainian grain exports to this country in 2008/09 MY reached 1.1 million tons.

It is also noted that in July-December of 2017/18 MY wheat supplies from Ukraine amounted to 11.3 million tons, which is 2% lower than over the same period of 2016/17 MY.

Indonesia imported 1.8 million tons or 16% of the total export volume, Bangladesh — 1.3 million tons or 12%, Egypt — 1.2 million tons or 11%, Philippines — 0.87 million tons or 8%, and the Republic of Korea — 0.72 million or 6%. In total, 5.9 million tons of grain, or 52% of all exports, were shipped to these countries.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine from the beginning of 2017/18 MY as of January 24, 2018 exported 23.07 million tons of grain, which is 2.37 million tons less than over the same period last year.
