Ukraine in 2017 increased rye exports 4 times

By the results of 2017, Ukraine exported 25 thousand tons of rye, which is 4 times higher than a year earlier, reports APK-Inform.

It is noted that monthly shipments of grain started only in March last year.

"The major importers of Ukrainian grain in the reporting period were the EU countries, mainly Poland (32% of total exports) and Spain (18%). Also, large volumes were shipped to Bangladesh (17%) and Indonesia (15%)," the report says.

It is also reported that export of organic rye from Ukraine in 2017 amounted to about 1 thousand tons, which is about 5 times higher than the result of 2016.

"Organic rye was shipped mainly to Switzerland (49% of the aggregate volume) and Austria (25%). These countries in 2017 bought exclusively organic rye in Ukraine, while Poland and Germany exported traditional rye as well," analysts note.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine from the beginning of MY 2017/18 as of January 24, 2018 exported 23.07 million tons of grain, which is 2.37 million tons less than over the same period last year.
