Rapeseed processing in 2017/18 will decrease 13%

Rapeseed processing forecast for the whole 2017/18 is estimated at 138 thousand tons (-13% as compared to 2016/17), reports APK-Inform.

It is noted that in the first half of 2017/18 the Ukrainian enterprises processed about 127 thousand tons of rapeseed against 140 thousand tons over the same period of 2016/17.

"For the second consecutive season, the volume of rape seeds processing in Ukraine is declining because of its low margin, which is due to high prices for raw materials and low prices in the export market of rapeseed oil," the report says.

Reference: in 2017 Ukraine exported 64.2 thousand tons of rapeseed oil for the amount of USD 49.99 million.
