In December export of sunflower oil from Ukraine decreased 10%
In December 2017, export of sunflower oil from Ukraine amounted to 412 thousand tons, which is 9.6% less compared to the previous month (456 thousand tons) and 26% less compared to December last year (557 thousand tons), UkrAgroConsult informs.
In the period from September to December 2017, 1715 thousand tons of sunflower oil were exported.
"The backlog from the records of the previous record season is 4.6%, when over the same period 1798 thousand tons were exported. The decline in sunflower processing in the current season is reflected in the export potential of the sunflower oil market in Ukraine," analysts note.
The main export destinations for Ukrainian sunflower oil in 2017/18 are India (42% of total exports), EU countries (30%) and China (15%), showing a tendency to increase purchases. Iran reduced imports from Ukraine, ceding the primacy to Malaysia (2%) and Iraq (2%).
Earlier it was reported that in 2017 Ukraine exported 5.76 million tons of sunflower oil for the amount of USD 4.3 billion.
