In 2017/18 export of Ukrainian flour expected at 450k tons

The export potential of the Ukrainian flour market in 2017/18 is forecast at 450 thousand tons, which is 2.2% lower than the forecast a month earlier, yet it is 11.9% higher than the previous marketing year, writes APK-Inform.

It is noted that the basic reason for the January forecast decline is a decrease in flour production in Ukraine, which fell 7.2% compared to last year's indicator for the first half of the season (1.04 million tons against 1.12 million tons).

In July-January 2017/18, export of Ukrainian flour amounted to 279.9 thousand tons, which exceeded 22% the corresponding indicator of the previous season (229.9 thousand tons).

Reference: Ukrainian exporters from the beginning of 2017/18 have delivered to China about 83 thousand tons of flour, which is 2.5% more than the export deliveries for the previous marketing year.
