Export of soybeans in 2017/18 projected to decrease by 17%

Analysts believe that Ukraine in 2017/18, most likely, will not be able to reach the same high export volumes of soybeans as in 2016/17.

This was informed in a workshop Ukrainian soybean: organic and traditional at the exhibition Agro Spring 2018.

The export volume of soybeans in 2017/18 is projected to decrease to 2.4 million tons, which is 17% less than the indicator of 2016/17.

It is noted that over the past few seasons the Ukrainian soybean market demonstrated record production, processing and export volumes. However, in the current season declining tendency prevails.

According to forecasts, in 2017/18 the bulk yield of soybeans is reduced to 3.97 million tons against 4.35 million tons in 2016/17, despite an increase in acreage under this crop by 7% (up to 2 million tons).
