Export of pulses from Ukraine grew by 64% in 2017

The export of pulses from Ukraine in 2017 increased by 64% and amounted to USD 193 million of export earnings.

Andrey Yarmak, Economist of the Technical Cooperation Department at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), informed that Ukraine earns 42% more on exports of pulses than on the export of dairy products.

"In 2017, pulses were the first to become one of the TOP-10 main export goods of the Ukrainian agro-industrial complex. Exports of pulses give Ukraine more earnings than exports of honey, dairy products, nuts, fresh fruits along with vegetables, as well as exports of flour, juice concentrates, etc.," he noted.

Earlier it was reported that according to Julia Ivanitskaya, analyst at APK-Inform, Ukraine in 2017/18 will process 1.3 million tons of soybeans, which is 16% more than the previous season.
