Sugar supply in 2017/18 totals 2.4 MT

The total supply of Ukrainian sugar in 2017/18, taking into account carry-over balances, is 2.4 million tons, Ukrsugar informs.

"According to estimates, the domestic consumption in the current season will not exceed 1.4 million tons. At the same time, export capacities are estimated at 0.7 million tons," the message says.

Domestic consumption over 6 months of 2017/18 is estimated at 0.7 million tons.

Earlier it was reported that from the beginning of 2017/18 (September-February) Ukraine exported 290 thousand tons of sugar compared to 523 thousand tons over the corresponding period of 2016/17.

Note: Ukrainian sugar market in 2017 was dominated by 10 companies.
