Export of grain from sea ports of Ukraine boosted by 65k tons

In the period from March 17 to March 23, 788 thou. tons of main grain crops were shipped for export from Ukrainian sea ports, which is 9% more than over the previous week (723 thou. tons), APK-Inform reports.

The largest increase in shipments (to 626 thou. tons) was observed in corn shipments. Volumes of wheat exports increased by 3% to 159 thou. tons. Also barley exports resumed: 3,3 thou. tons were shipped in the reporting week.

The largest volume of grain in the reporting period was exported from the ports of Nikolaev (261 thou. tons), Odessa (236 thou. tons) and Yuzhny (167 thou. tons).

Among the leaders-importers of Ukrainian grain last week were Egypt (132 thou. tons), Morocco (95 thou. tons) and Ireland (63 thou. tons).

Previously it was reported that prices for leguminous crops on the world markets are declining after a strong February growth.
