Corn output in Ukraine expected to increase 14%

Corn output in 2018 is projected at 28.2 million tons, which is 14% higher than last year's indicator, APK-Inform writes.

Export potential of the crop in MY2018/19 is estimated at 21 million tons, which can fully meet the needs of key importers.

The major importer of Ukrainian corn is the European Union, which share in October-March of the current MY totaled more than 47% of all crop export supplies. This region remains attractive, as the first forecasts of international agencies against the current weather conditions indicate the expected decline in corn production in the EU in 2018.

Earlier it was reported that since the beginning of MY2017/18 Ukraine exported 14.39 million tons of corn (1.67 million tons less).
