Mriya Agro Holding launched winter barley harvesting

Mriya Agro Holding launched harvesting campaign 2018. Threshing of winter barley started in in Chernivtsi region.

Harvesting of winter rapeseed and winter wheat is to begin. This season, the crops were sown on the area of 17.7 thou. hectares and 25.5 thou. hectares, respectively. In total in 2018 Mriya plans to harvest from 147 thou. hectares.

"This year, the company started harvesting operations about a week earlier than usual. This was motivated by the drought and high temperatures in April and May, which are not typical for our region. Spring drought negatively affected the crop condition, especially spring crops, during the active vegetation of which there was practically no precipitation. But, despite unfavorable weather conditions, this season we expect to reach the planned yield indicators," commented the company's COO Andrei Grigorov.

Mriya will involve 68 own and 36 hired harvesters, as well as about 500 trucks for harvesting and transporting the crop.

Reference: in March 2018, Mriya purchased 22 units of agricultural machinery worth of USD 2.8 million.
