The global grains production forecast in 2018/19 down 18 mln tons — IGC

The global grains production forecast in 2018/19 decreased by 18 mln tons, International Grains Council (IGC) reports.
As compared with MY2017/18, the global production of grain will decrease by 32 mln tons.
The international grain trade should amount to 370 mln tons, which is 2 mln tons more than in MY2016/17 and exceeds the previous forecast by 1 mln tons.
Previously it was reported that as at 25 July, agrarians harvested 20 mln tons of early grain and leguminous crops from 6.3 mln hectares (65% of the forecast) with a yield of 3.19 tons per hectare.
