Pro-Consulting: Ukraine increased poultry meat exports to the EU by 80%

During the first half of 2018, Ukraine increased poultry meat exports to the European Union by 80%.

This is reported by the analysts at Pro-Consulting.

Entrepreneurs exported 62 thousand tons of chicken to the EU in the first six months. Ukraine took the third place among the chicken suppliers.

The analysts at Pro-Consulting stressed that due to the expansion of the exports geography and the opening of the Middle East market, Ukraine would remain one of the industry leaders. In 2017, the main buyers of Ukrainian poultry were the Netherlands (USD 78.07 million), Egypt (USD 65.24 million), and Iraq (USD 42.67 million).

The main factors for the development of the Ukrainian market in 2018-2019 will be a decrease in the inflation rate and an increase in the purchasing power of the Ukrainian population, which will increase the production of chicken meat in Ukraine by 5-7%.

Reference: during the first half of 2018, the agro-export to the EU countries amounted to USD 2.6 billion.
