Corn prices seen rapidly going down
3 September 2018, 12:10
The prices for Ukrainian corn on the domestic market have collapsed (–500-550 UAH per ton) against the backdrop of high harvest forecasts in Ukraine, as well as under the Chicago pressure, IDK.Expert reports.
"The procurement prices have shown a drop in both linear and port elevators. On the main positions, prices fell by 50-200 UAH/t," the message says.
At the same time, the decline was limited to a small supply of high-quality wheat and the devaluation of the national currency.
Previously it was reported that on August 30, 2018, prices for wheat had risen in international markets, due to rumours about a possible restriction of exports from Russia. Wheat quotations in Paris rose by EUR 5.25/t to EUR 202.75/t or USD 237.17/t.
