Major chicken meat producer granted financing for 83 business projects

Winners of the "Village: Steps to Development" contest were granted more than UAH 4 million by the agroindustrial holding Myronivsky Hliboproduct (MHP). Representatives from 5 regions of Ukraine — Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Dnipropetrovsk, participated in the contest.

The company informs that this year each participant who presented his business plan and received the support of the jury got UAH 50 thou. to open his own business or to develop an already existing business in the countryside.

In 2018, the geography of the contest was expanded from 2 to 5 regions, the amount of financial assistance increased from UAH 40 thou. to UAH 50 thou., and the number of grants has almost doubled. The holding company operates in all districts where the competition was held.

"Our main goal is to revive the villages and moderate the labour migration of rural residents to cities and abroad. For many years, young people left the country massively. All because people did not have the support and incentive to develop in their village, in the district. We give the initiative people the tools for this," said Dmitriy Kambulov, the Adviser to the Chairman of the MHP's Board.

The agroholding became the initiator of the contest and its investor. Support for its organization and conduct was provided by local authorities and public organizations.

"Our project provides support to entrepreneurs in rural areas. Some had only an idea, others had already established a business and needed to improve or expand their capacities. But all projects are aimed at the development of the village, so let's hope that by joint efforts we will achieve this goal. Successes of active and enterprising people in communities are important for us," noted the Head of the Corporate Social Responsibility of MHP Victoria Nagirnyak.

In Cherkasy region, 55 people submitted their own projects to the jury. 28 business plans were recognized as the most promising and awarded with grants, which is 3 grants more than planned. Among them are livestock, crop production, services, and the development of beekeeping, as well as a snail farm.

"It is noteworthy that the grant competition by MHP, which was founded in Cherkasy region, annually expands its geography and already covers 5 regions. So, the Ukrainian village has prospects for development and prosperity," said Anatoliy Rekun, director of the ANGO Resource Center, which is a regular partner of the contest.

In Vinnytsia region, out of 62 submitted business plans, 32 winners were selected instead of 30 planned. This is the development of photography, floriculture and projects for the introduction of innovative technologies.

7 business plans of Ternopil region residents and 10 — of Ivano-Frankivsk received certificates for grant assistance for the development of their own business. The jury identified the most promising business initiatives that contribute to the development of the region.

Among the projects of the Petrykiv district, where the competition was held for the first time this year, 6 were chosen the most useful not only for profit but also for the development of Dnipropetrovsk as a tourist region. Most of the projects are aimed specifically at developing tourism in the region. Those are the provision of services for living and active leisure of the guests of the district, an online store of local souvenirs and a paintball club.
