26 sugar refineries started the production season 2018/19

As of September 17, 26 sugar refineries in Ukraine started the production season 2018/19, Ukrsugar informs.
On September 17, Illinets Sugar Plant, Starokostiantynivtsukor, Teofipol Sugar Plant, TH Shepetivka Sugar, Lynovytsk "Krasnyi" Sugar Refinery started sugar beet processing.
As of September 18, the plants produced 72.2 thou. tons of sugar and processed 647.3 thou. tons of sugar beet.
The season of sugar refining officially started on August 31.
The production of sugar in the current marketing year is expected to be slightly less than 2 million tons, despite the reduction in the number of functioning refineries.
