The Law on the Abolition of State Sugar Market Regulation came into effect

The Law of Ukraine "On the Recognition of Certain Laws of Ukraine that Lost Their Power on the State Regulation of the Production and Sale of Sugar" has come into effect today, on September 20, Jurliga informs.

The "A" quota was abolished, which regulated the maximum volume of supply by sugar factories to the domestic market and minimum prices for sugar.

Previously, the prices were set by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine annually, and the Ukrsugar Association distributed the quota.

Reference: on September 4, 2018, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the second reading the Bill No. 4532 "On the Recognition of Certain Laws of Ukraine that Lost Their Power on the State Regulation of the Production and Sale of Sugar."

Note: Ukrainian sugar market in 2017 was dominated by 10 companies.
