Vegetable oils transshipment in seaports decreased 10% in Jan-Aug

The seaports of Ukraine in January-August 2018 provided for the transshipment of 3 510 thou. tons of vegetable oils, which is 9.6% less than over the corresponding period last year.

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) informs that the top 5 seaports in terms of transshipment volumes are:

  • Mykolaiv — 1 584.75 thou. tons (–2.1% y-o-y);
  • Chernomorsk — 897.08 thou. tons (–6.42%);
  • Yuzhny — 986.1 thou. tons (–12.4%);
  • Odessa — 93.12 thou. tons (+40%);
  • Izmail — 40.44 thou. tons (–19.4%).

UkrAgroConsult previously informed that in September-July of MY2017/18 sunflower oil exports amounted to 4.96 million tons as compared to 5.43 million tons a year ago. By July, the export output lowered by 8.5% compared to that of 2016/17.
