Global corn production forecast in 2018/19 increased 10 mln tons

The global corn production forecast in MY2018/19 increased 10 mln tons to 1 074 bln tons, International Grains Council (IGC) informs.

Corn production in MY2018/19 is 27 million tons higher as compared to MY2017/18 (1 045 bln tons).

The global corn trade in MY2018/19 should amount to 157 mln tons, which is 1 mln tons more than the previous forecast and 5 mln tons more than the traded volumes in MY2017/18.

Previously it was reported that by September 26, 2018, the Ukrainian agrarians had harvested 4.7 mln tons of corn from the area of 830.000 hectares (18%) with the productivity of 5.67 tons/ha.
