34 sugar refineries in Ukraine started the production season 2018/19

As of September 30, 34 sugar refineries in Ukraine started the production season 2018/19, Ukrsugar informs.
On September 29, Sugaragroprom, branch of Kobelyaksky Sugar Factory, Krasilov Sugar Plant started the production of sugar, on September 30 — Sugaragroprom, branch of Globylo Sugar Plant.
As of October 1, refineries processed 2.15 million tons of sugar beet and produced 260.4 thou. tons of sugar.
The season of sugar refining officially started on August 31.
The production of sugar in the current marketing year is expected to be slightly less than 2 million tons, despite the reduction in the number of functioning refineries.
Note: Ukrainian sugar market in 2017 was dominated by 10 companies.
