MHP boosted chicken meat exports by 52% in Q3 2018
In Q3 2018, the agri-industrial holding Myronivsky Hliboproduct (MHP) increased poultry exports by 52% to 80.36 thou. tons of supplies compared to the prior-year period.
Over the nine-month period, chicken exports grew by 22% and reached 213.93 thou. tons, mainly due to export growth in Q3 and Q1 2018.
Total poultry exports within nine months of 2018 constituted around 48% vs 42% in 2017 of total poultry sales volumes.
During the reporting period, third parties sales amounted to 449,23 tons of poultry, which is 7% higher than over the nine-month period in 2017, driven mainly by growth in exports and the company's strategy to reduce chicken remains starting on Q3 2018.
"MHP continued to follow the strategy of geographical diversification, as well as optimizing the product range, supplying the main volumes of chicken exports to the countries of the Middle East and North Africa, the EU, Africa and Asia," the message reads.
Previously it was reported that MHP had confirmed the intention to acquire Perutnina Ptuj, a well-established and vertically integrated company in Southeast Europe. Perutnina Ptuj has a strong brand and a significant share of poultry value-added products, which MHP is ready to support over the coming years through investment and further development.
