Wheat exports from Ukraine in Jul-Sep 2018/19 reduced 11%

In July-September of MY2018/19, 5.26 million tons of wheat were exported from Ukraine, which is 11.3% less than in last year's comparative period. This indicator is the lowest within the last three seasons, UkrAgroConsult informs.

In September 2018/19, Ukraine exported 2.16 million tons of wheat, which is comparable to the volumes of the previous month (2.15 million tons), but 18.4% less than in September of the previous season.

The main markets for Ukrainian wheat in the current season are Indonesia and the European Union. Over the reporting period, the growth of supply in these directions amounted to 15% and 20%, respectively. There is also a significant increase in deliveries to the Philippines — 719.3 thou. tons of wheat in July-September of MY2017/18 vs 254.5 thou. tons over the same period last year.

Meanwhile, there is a significant decline in Egypt imports, which increasingly gives preference to Russian wheat. Thus, over the reporting period, the supply of Ukrainian wheat to Egypt was 55% lower than in the same period last year.

Previously it was reported that in the period from October 6 to 12 of the current year, 205 thou. tons of main grains were shipped by Ukrainian seaports for export, which is 80% less than in the previous corresponding period (1 032 thou. tons, taking into account the actualization of data).
