Grain yield forecast sent up to 64 mln tons

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine has again revised the crop 2018 estimate upwards — the expected volume of grain production is at 64 million tons.

This is the second result in the history after the 2016 record of 66 million tons.

Grain exports are projected at 42.5 million tons, but the achievement of this indicator largely depends on the ability to ensure a rhythmic delivery of grain to the ports.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the grain market participants signed the Memorandum of Understanding for MY2018/19. The total agreed indicative volume of wheat exports is 16 million tons, that is milling and fodder wheat will be exported in equal volumes — 8 million tons each. The domestic market demand for milling wheat is 4.5 million tons.
