IGC improved the global wheat production forecast in 2018/19 by 12 mln tons

The global wheat production forecast in MY2018/19 improved by 12 million tons to 729 million tons. The previous forecast stood at 717 million tons, the International Grains Council (IGC) informs.
As compared with MY2017/18, the global wheat production in MY2018/19 will decrease by 38 million tons.
The global wheat trade should reach 172 million tons, which is 1 million tons less than the previous forecast and 4 million tons less than in MY2017/18.
According to the operational data of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, the transshipment volumes of grain and food supplies in Ukraine decreased to 27.8 million tons, which is 9.2% lower YoY.
