The Ukrainian sunflower oil export increased 28 times over 20 years — Kapshuk

Over the past 20 years, Ukraine increased sunflower oil exports by 28,4 times. This was stated by Stepan Kapshuk, Director of UkrOliyaProm Association, within the framework of Fat-and-Oil Industry-2018 conference in Kyiv, APK-Inform writes.

He noted that the sunflower oil production rose by 15.3 times.

“The principal result is the upward dynamics of the continuous development of the industry,” summarized Stepan Kapshuk.

According to him, over the past 20 years, Ukraine has evolved from an importing country into a recognized leader in the global fat-and-oil industry.

Kapshuk also noted that the current capacity for processing oilseeds in Ukraine provides for processing practically the whole volume of soybean, rapeseed and sunflower produced in Ukraine.

Previously it was reported that the potential for processing sunflower in MY2018/19 was estimated at 14.6 million tons, which is 10% more than the previous season.
