Corn production in Ukraine improved again — USDA

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) analysts increased the forecast for Ukrainian corn exports in the December report, Zernotorg.ua informs.

Ukrainian corn exports are expected 1 million tons higher or at 28 million tons.

Corn export forecast was raised for Ukraine but reduced by 200 thou. tons for Mexico to 1.3 million tons. According to analysts, imports of this crop are increasing for Vietnam, Canada, Japan, Iran and Colombia, partially offsetting Libya and Venezuela supply cuts.

Corn production in Ukraine was again increased by 1.5 million tons to 35 million tons.

By the estimates of Institute of Agrarian Economics, updated on the basis of statistical data as of November 1, 2018, and expert assessment by the end of the year, in 2018 the production of grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine will exceed last year's 61.9 million tons by 13.4% and reach 70.2 million tons.
