China resumed imports of Ukrainian poultry products

The People's Republic of China (PRC) lifted the ban on the import of Ukrainian poultry products, Interfax-Ukraine reports with reference to the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection (SSUFSCP).

“This concerns lifting of the ban on the import of poultry meat and poultry products into the PRC. Now the procedure for the coordination of inspection and quarantine requirements will be initiated, as well as the export supplies of these products,” the State Food and Consumer Service reported.

It is noted that China banned the import of Ukrainian poultry products in 2005-2006 because of the avian flu.

“In fact, the lifting of the ban is one of the prerequisites for opening the market, but not the resumption of Ukrainian poultry and poultry products supplies to China. Until now, Ukraine has not exported these products to the PRC,” the message says.

Previously it was reported that Ukraine had received approval for the export of poultry meat and meat products, fresh edible eggs and egg products to Singapore.
