Syngenta net income in 2018 reached USD 1.4 bln

Syngenta's net income for the year 2018 was USD 1,438 million compared to a loss of USD 98 million in 2017.

Sales of USD 13.5 billion were up 7 pct. Crop protection sales of USD 10.4 billion increased 7 pct against 2017. Seeds sales of USD 3.0 billion were 6 pct higher than in 2017.

EBITDA of USD 2.6 billion, was flat against an adjusted 2017 and 4 pct higher excluding divestments. The EBITDA margin was 19.3 pct (2017 20.6 pct) and adjusted for divestments was 0.8 pct lower than 2017 including higher product costs and the impact of adverse currency movements.

As previously reported, Syngenta opened its sixth in the world Digital Innovation Lab in Kyiv in early October 2018.
