Winter wheat harvesting in the US slower from average pace — USDA

As of July 14, 2019, winter wheat harvesting in the United States was carried out on 57% of the area, 20.8% lower from 2018 crop progress — 72% at the corresponding date in 2018, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reports.
However, this indicator is 21.3% higher compared to the previous week's 47%.
The USDA in its weekly Crop Progress report indicated that the condition of spring wheat crops in the United States by the reporting date did not change significantly compared to 2018.
As of July 14, the condition of spring wheat crops was as followed:
- excellent — 10% of crops vs 13% in 2018;
- good — 66% vs 67%;
- fair — 20% vs 16%;
- poor — 4% vs 3%.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) experts reduced the forecast for 2019/20 wheat production in Ukraine by 1 million tons vs the June forecast.
