Crop progress in Ukraine approaching 40 million tons

As of August 23rd, harvesting of grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine was carried out on the area of 10 million hectares or on 65% of the areas. The crop reached 39 million tons using the average yield of 3.9 tons per hectare.

According to the Harvest Online 2019 project, the new crop volumes are as follows:

  • early grain and leguminous crops — 38.9 mln tons on 9.9 mln hectares or 99.6%;
  • buckwheat — 4 thou. tons on 4 thou. hectares or 5%;
  • millet — 37 thou. tons on 20 thou. hectares or 23%;
  • sunflower — 30 thou. tons on 19 thou. hectares.

The highest crop was harvested in Odesa — 3.1 million tons, Zaporizhzhya — 3 million tons, Kharkiv — 2.8 million tons, Dnipropetrovsk — 2.7 million tons and Mykolaiv — 2.6 million tons.
