Agriproducts export to the EU reached USD 4 bln — Trofimtseva

Export of Ukrainian agriproducts to the EU boosted by 34.3% or by USD 1.04 bln to USD 4.1 bln in January-July 2019 as compared with the prior year's relative period, ex-Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Olga Trofimtseva writes on Facebook.

The values of the products exported are as followed:

  • grains — USD 1.8 bln;
  • vegetable oil — USD 921.9 mln;
  • oilseeds — USD 385.4 mln;
  • cake and other food industry wastes — USD 345.5 mln;
  • poultry meat — USD 117.3 mln;
  • fruit, nuts, and zest — USD 78.6 mln.

Ukraine also supplied to the EU sugar confectionery products worth USD 28.7 mln, vegetable and fruit processing products — USD 25.7 mln, casein, albumins — USD 20.7 mln, juices — USD 18.6 mln, salt — USD 16.1 mln, and sugar for the amount of ~USD 13 mln.

The key importers in the reporting period are the Netherlands (18%), Spain (13.5%), Poland (13.4%), Germany (11.1%) and Italy (10.6%).

"As of September 2, Ukraine 100% filled the EU tariff import quotas for honey, sugar, fine-ground barley and flour, starch, processed tomatoes, grape and apple juices, corn and wheat. The quota for butter was filled at 48%, and for processed milk products — at 33.3%," said Olga Trofimtseva.

Previously reported that the Netherlands is one of the key importers of sunflower oil from Ukraine in January-August 2019.
