Potato import to Ukraine 4.8x higher vs export

Import of potato to Ukraine in January-August exceeded export by 4.8x. By the data of the State Fiscal Sevice of Ukraine, in the indicated period the country imported 26.23 thou. t of potato worth USD 8.5 mln.

The major suppliers of potato to Ukraine are as follows:

• Belarus — USD 2.73 mln (32.07%);
• the Netherlands — USD 1.63 mln (19.17%);
• Egypt — USD 1.32 mln (15.58%);
• others — USD 2.82 mln (33.18%).
  

In the reporting period, Ukraine exported 5.49 thou. t worth 1.47 mln.
