Harvest Online 2019: Kharkiv region cropped the highest grain yield

As of October 8th, harvesting of grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine was conducted on the area of 11.9 mln ha or 78% of the total. The crop reached 50.6 mln t using the average yield of 4.25 t/ha (2018: 3.81 t/ha).

The highest grain yields are reported in the following regions: Kharkiv — 3.7 mln t, Dnipropetrovsk — 3.5 mln t, Odesa — 3.4 mln t, Zaporizhzhya and Vinnytsya — 3.2 mln t each, and Mykolaiv — 3.1 mln t.

By the Harvest Online 2019 project, the new crop volumes are as followed:

  • buckwheat — 78 thou. t on 59 thou. ha or 87%, 1.32 t/ha;
  • millet — 145 thou. t on 77 thou. ha or 86%, 1.88 t/ha;
  • corn — 10.7 mln t on 1.7 mln ha or 34%, 6.27 t/ha;
  • soybean — 2.7 mln t on 1.1 mln ha or 72%, 2.35 t/ha;
  • sunflower — 11.9 mln t on 5 mln ha or 86%, 2.37 t/ha;
  • sugar beet — 3.4 mln t on 75 thou. ha or 34%, 44.9 t/ha.
