Key Ukrainian soybean oil importer intensified purchases by 80 pct

The European Union preserves the status of a major importer of Ukrainian soybean oil with a market share of 65%. The volume of purchases in January-October 2019 increased by 78% and amounted to 34 thou. t vs. 19.1 thou. t in the prior year's comparative period, UkrAgroConsult writes.

In September-October of the current year, the number of importers dropped from 38 countries in 2018/19 to 14.

Poland, China and India boosted purchases of the product by 75.7%, 166% and 47%, respectively.

However, Algeria reduced soybean oil import by 68%.

In January-October of the current year, soybean oil export shipment from Ukraine totalled 319.02 thou. t for the amount of USD 203.34 mln.
