Grain export 2019/20: shipment volumes 38 pct up since the start of the season

Since the start of 2019/20, Ukraine has exported 22.68 mln t of staple grains. As of November 20th, the commodities shipment increased by 5.24 mln t (38%) compared to the same period of the previous year, the information and analytical portal of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine reports.

The grain export structure in the reporting period is as follows:

  • wheat — 12.8 mln t (4.06 mln t more y-o-y);
  • barley — 3.42 mln t (419 thou. t more y-o-y);
  • corn — 6.16 mln t (1.81 mln t more y-o-y);
  • rye — 5 thou. t (60.8 thou. t less y-o-y).

As a reminder, by November 20th harvesting of grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine was conducted on the area of 14.9 mln ha or 98% of the total. The crop reached 73 mln t using the average yield of 4.89 t/ha (2018: 4.67 t/ha).
