Poland provided 42 pct of pork supply to Ukraine in Jan-Nov

In January-November, pork imports to Ukraine stood at 21.94 thou. t for the amount of USD 41.85 mln.

The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine (SFSU) informs that the key importer of pig meat in the reporting period is Poland with a 42.39% share of supplies. In 2018, the country's share was twice as lower — 20.99%.

The key importers of pork to Ukraine in Jan-Nov are as follows:

  • Poland — USD 17.74 mln (42.39%);
  • Germany — USD 7.27 mln (17.38%);
  • the Netherlands — USD 5.65 mln (13.51%);
  • other states — USD 7.03 mln (22.61%).

Over 11M, Ukraine exported 2.05 thou. t of pork for the total amount of USD 4.69 mln. Therefore, pork import this year exceeds export in physical terms by 10.7x.

As a reminder, Ukraine is unable to agree on the export of pork to China by the end of 2019 due to complications with the conclusion of a veterinary certificate.
