Ukraine's Cabinet relies on EUR 26 mln financing for land reform provided by EU

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a draft agreement with the European Union, which provides for the allocation of EUR 26 mln of financial aid for land reform implementation in Ukraine. This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk.

"The Government plans to attract EUR 26 mln of the EU's assistance to improve the transparent management of agricultural resources and implement land reform," the Prime Minister said.

It is reported that in case of signing the agreement "EU support for the development of agriculture and small farms in Ukraine", the assistance is to be provided in the following sectors:

  • institutional and sectoral reform in agriculture and rural areas;
  • support for small farms;
  • promotion of land reform.

Previously reported that the national currency is expected to appreciate substantially with farmland market liberalization scheduled for autumn 2020.
