Railroad grain transportation volume increased

In January-February, railroad transportation of grain and grain mill products in Ukraine increased by 1.2% year-on-year and amounted to 7.1 mln t, the data of the State Statistics Service shows.

The volumes of chemical and mineral fertilizer shipments grew by 2.2% to 1.5 mln t in the reporting period.

In total, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, 47.3 mln t of cargoes were transported by Ukrainian railways in the first two months of 2020, 2.6% less from a year earlier.

Previously reported that in the week of Mar. 14-20, staple grains shipment in Ukrainian seaports amounted to 1.18 mln t, 26% higher from the previous week's volumes (933 mln t, as provided by the figures updated).
