Early grains yielded 6.3 t/ha on average in Khmelnytsky region, highest in crop year 2021 in Ukraine

Agriproducers of Khmelnytsky region have completed early grains harvesting with the highest average yield per hectare for the country in the 2021 crop year, Region State Administration reports.

Grain, leguminous crops and rapeseed have been harvested on 387 thou. ha.

As reported, the bulk yield of early grains totals 1.9 mln t. The average yield reached 6.03 t/ha.

Winter rapeseed was harvested on 81 thou. ha, the production came to 300 thou. t using the average yield of 3.5 t/ha. Early grains yield indicators are 20-22% higher than the previous season.

For the country's next crop, winter rapeseed sowing is in progress. Producers have done sowing on 39 thou. ha or 54% of the planned 72 thou. ha.

Agricultural companies in Khmelnytsky region are soon to start late crops harvesting, including sugar beet on 29 thou. ha, sunflower on 162 thou. ha, soybean on 134 thou. ha, corn for grain on 303 thou. ha.

Households are harvesting vegetables, including potatoes. The total area to be harvested is 73 thou. ha.

Wheat production in Ukraine in the crop year 2021 is projected at 31.2 mln t, 26% up YoY.
