Sunflowerseed oil export from Ukraine at five-season low in Sept-Oct 2021/22

Sunflowerseed oil export from Ukraine in September-October 2021/22(September-August) made up 711 thou. t, 14% down YoY, the consulting agency UkrAgroConsult reports. The volume of sunoil exported is also five-season low.

In the first two months of the season, the EU countries intensified their purchases of Ukrainian sunflowerseed oil by 57% YoY and consequently headed the ranking of the key export markets. The EU accounts for 36% of total Ukraine's sunflowerseed export in Sept-Oct 2021/22.

Analysts mark a 599% surge in the export supplies to Egypt. Spain boosted its purchases by 287%. Sunflower meal export to China plunged by 62%, shipment to France lost 40%. India's imports of Ukrainian sunflower meal reduced by 18%.

Previously reported that India was expected to import more sunflowerseed oil in 2021/22 (November-October).

Crude sunflower oil production in Ukraine in 2020/21 totalled 4.7 mln t. Refined sunflower oil output by crushers in Ukraine made up 745.3 thou. t.

Ukroilprom projects sunflower oil production in Ukraine in 2021/22 to grow by 24% YoY.
