Ukraine's Agrarian Ministry website down after cyber attack

Early Friday, Jan. 14, the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine was attacked by hackers. The website is currently inaccessible.

The Government's portal, the website of the Foreign Affairs Ministry among others were also hit by the cyber attack.

"Following a massive hacker attack, the websites of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and other state agencies are temporarily down. Our specialists are now working on the recovery of IT systems. We are sorry for the inconvenience," the Ministry's statement reads.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine was attacked first, OBOZREVATEL writes.

"On the Agrarian Ministry's website, crossed pig's head, coat of arms, map and the flag of Ukraine were placed on the dark background. Below that, a black frame encircled messages with threats in Ukrainian, Russian and Polish," OBOZREVATEL reports. "In these messages, hackers claimed that all the personal data of Ukrainians had been "uploaded into the Internet."

The Security Service of Ukraine announced that no personal data was leaked.
