Indonesia resumes registration for Ukraine laboratories running quality tests of ag commodities

Indonesia has accredited Ukrainian quality control laboratories to ensure continuous exports of Ukrainian agricultural products to the country, the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection (SSUFSCP) statement reads.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia has renewed the accreditation of the Odesa Customs Control and Toxicology Laboratory for Food Safety and the Odesa Region State Laboratory of the SSUFSCP for the next 3 years.

As reported, the decision taken by the Indonesian authorities guarantees an uninterrupted supply of Ukrainian agricultural products, primarily wheat, to the market of Indonesia.

Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the SSUFSCP and the Indonesian authorities were engaged in the process of reaching this decision.

Agricultural commodities formed 45% of the total structure of Ukraine's exports in 2020. Europe imported 32.4% of products shipped.

As a reminder, wheat export from Ukraine in 2021/22 was limited to 25.3 mln t. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Agrarian Ministry and grain market participants. The Government also considers milling wheat export from the country. The decision is reported to be taken in January.
