Canada removes trade tariffs on Ukrainian commodities

Canada temporarily eliminates all taxes on Ukrainian commodities. Export of products from Ukraine to Canada will be tax-free for 12 months. This was announced by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during the meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv on May 8.

A similar decision has been recently made by the UK.

Minister of Economy Julia Svyrydenko marks it is a promising continuation of the EU and British initiative, which confirms the interest of the developed countries in involving the Ukrainian economy in their own industrial and commercial chains.

"Before the meeting of the prime minister and the president, we also discussed with the Minister of International Trade Mary Ng the whole set of economic cooperation measures that we plan to implement," says Julia Svyrydenko.

She also added that it is an ambitious year-long work programme for the Ukrainian ministry.
