Crop progress in Ukraine: Odesa and Mykolaiv regions complete the campaign

As of November 24, grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine yielded 40.1 mln t on 9.2 mln ha, which is 82% of the planned area (2021: 95%, 15.2 mln ha), the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports. The average yield of crops as of the reporting date was 4.37 t/ha (2021: 5.25 t/ha).

Producers in Mykolaiv and Odesa regions are the first to finish the campaign.

Production by crops:

  • wheat: 19.4 mln t on 4.7 mln ha (100%), avg. yield 4.12 t/ha
  • barley: 5.6 mln t on 1.6 mln ha (100%), avg. yield 3.51 t/ha
  • rapeseed: 3.2 mln t on 1.1 mln ha (100%), avg. yield 2.89 t/ha
  • peas: 261 thou. t on 111.5 thou. ha (100%), avg. yield 2.34 t/ha
  • millet: 98 thou. t on 42.6 thou. ha (95%), avg. yield 2.31 t/ha
  • buckwheat: 156.5 thou. t on 115 thou. ha (98%), avg. yield 1.37 t/ha
  • sunflower: 9.8 mln t on 4.5 mln ha (96%), avg. yield 2.17 t/ha
  • corn: 13.5 mln t on 2.2 mln ha (53%), avg. yield 6.01 t/ha
  • soybean: 3.6 mln t on 1.5 mln ha (97%), avg. yield 2.41 t/ha
  • sugar beet: 8.2 mln t on 166 thou. ha (93%), avg. yield 49.5 t/ha

The highest yield of grains and legumes was produced in Khmelnysky region — 6.56 t/ha.

Agriproducers in Vinnytsya region harvested the highest bulk yield of grains — 3.7 mln t.

USDA projects wheat output in Ukraine in 2022/23 at 20.5 mln t, corn at 31.5 mln t, and sunflower at 10.5 mln t.
