Agri-food exports from Ukraine in Jan-Nov cross USD 21 bln, 14% down YoY

In January-November 2022, Ukraine exported 50.9 mln t of agricultural and food products worth USD 21.1 bln.

"Ukraine exported 50.9 mln t of agricultural and food products for a total of USD 21.1 bln in 11 months of the current year. This is 16.7% less in volume and 13.7% below the value as compared to the relevant period of 2021," First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Yulia Svyrydenko commented.

The main export groups are as follows:

  • corn: 21.9 mln t, USD 5.3 bln
  • wheat: 9.6 mln t, USD 2.3 bln
  • sunflower oil: 3.9 mln t, USD 5 bln
  • rapeseed: 2.9 mln t, USD 1.4 bln
  • oilseed meal: 2.9 mln t, USD 671.2 mln

The Ministry stressed that Ukrainian agriproducers achieved such performance despite the losses of the domestic agro-industrial complex. Thus, according to the report prepared by the KSE Institute together with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, losses (direct losses) in the agricultural sector amounted to USD 6.6 bln. Indirect losses total USD 34.25 bln.

Since the opening of the 'grain corridor' on August 1, Ukraine has exported 13 mln t of agri-food products.

More than USD 180 mln has been raised for the implementation of the Grain from Ukraine initiative supported by more than 30 countries and international organizations.
