Grain export 2022/23: cereals shipment down 33% by Dec 9

Staple grains export shipment from Ukraine since the start of the 2022/23(1 July 2022-30 June 2023) season has come to 18.974 mln t. As reported by the Agrarian Ministry, commodities shipment as of December 9 dropped by 9.202 mln t, 32.6% down YoY.

Ukraine's grain export at the reporting date by crops (thou. t):

Maritime ports of Ukraine were blocked by russia since February 24, 2022, the day this country started a full-scale war against Ukraine until on 22 July a grain deal was signed in Turkey.

The second phase of the Ukraine grain deal was signed in Istanbul on 17 November. It extends the Black Sea Grain Initiative for another 120 days.

As of December 8, grains harvesting in Ukraine was 87% completed.

Producers collected 43.6 mln t of new crop grain:

  • wheat: 19.2 mln t, 4.1 t/ha
  • barley: 5.6 mln t, 3.51 t/ha
  • rapeseed: 3.2 mln t, 2.89 t/ha
  • peas: 261 thou. t, 2.34 t/ha
  • sunflower: 10 mln t, 2.18 t/ha
  • corn: 17.2 mln t, 6.19 t/ha
  • soybean: 3.7 mln t, 2.42 t/ha
