Ukraine ranks ninth among largest wheat producers in 2022

In the 2022 season, Ukraine produced 20.5 mln t of wheat. This volume ranked the country ninth among the largest wheat-producing countries, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

The major wheat producers in 2022 are as follows (mln t):

  2. EU 134.7
  3. India 103
  4. russia 91
  5. USA 44.9
  6. Canada 35
  7. Australia 33
  8. Pakistan 26.4
  9. Ukraine 20.5
  10. Argentina 17.5

Turkey harvested 17.25 mln t of wheat, the UK 14.6 mln t, Iran 13.2 mln t, Kazakhstan 13 mln t, Egypt 9.8 mln t, Brazil 9.2 mln t and Uzbekistan 6.6 mln t.

The total wheat production area worldwide topped 220 mln ha in 2022.

Ukraine produced a record-high crop in 2021 — 106 mln t of grains, oilseeds and legumes, including 84 mln t of grains and legumes, 22.6 mln t of oilseeds.
